A Safe Environment
Reducing the Risk: Policies & Procedures for Working with Minors:
One of the goals of PromiseLand is to provide a safe, secure, loving environment for children. In an effort to accomplish this we have several security measures in place to protect our children, their parents, and the church. Below is an overview of our policies and procedures, but not limited to them.
Worker Approval & Teacher Identification:
All PromiseLand team members (leaders, teachers, & supporting staff) must have an approved application on file in the Church Office. Adult volunteers are fingerprinted for a background check through the California Department of Justice.
Check-In & Check-Out Procedures:
When parents check in their child (birth through 3 years) they sign them in and receive a numbered tag for each child. The parent will keep their numbered tag with them while their child is in the Small World Nursery. When the parent returns, they must turn in the tag as a "security claim check" for their child, and sign them out.
Preschoolers & Elementary:
Children preschool through elementary (4-11 yrs) are checked in and out at one location. Parents must sign each child in and sign them out at the end of each class hour. Children will only be dismissed to the person(s) indicated on the sign-in sheet at check-in time.
At least two approved team members are scheduled for each group of children during our Sunday service & discipleship hour, and are not left with any one adult at any time. During our service hours, children are not allowed to wander around the campus. Window blinds are kept open at all times. Any PromiseLand sponsored activities or outings outside regularly scheduled classes must be pre-approved by the PromiseLand Team. Participants are required to come with a completed PromiseLand permission slip that is signed by a parent or guardian.
