SERVING WILLOW GLEN & THE WORLD

We believe that through bold acts of compassion and generosity, we can make the love of God known and felt in our world. We believe that as we work together with a heart of sacrifice, we can right wrongs, bring light into darkness, and heal the hurting. When God wants to change the world, He uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Our prayer is that the love and generosity that Jesus has shown us would overflow out of our lives and into the world around us - bringing change and hope. Church of God of San Jose partners with some incredible organizations to help make a difference in peoples' lives.

Volunteer with 4others

The Church of God is the home of the 4others organization. 4others is committed to being a driving force in the fight against poverty, preventable disease, and injustice. We conduct reproducible campaigns designed to inspire and equip people to live their lives for others. 4others partners with non-profit organizations to raise public awareness and funding to meet needs both locally and globally. Together, we can change the world one place at a time. For more information, visit our website at www.4others.org.

4others was founded in 2009 by Church of God of San Jose and has since become a grassroots movement of students, faith communities, businesses and service organizations. 100% of the funds raised by 4others go directly to our projects in the field and do not benefit the church programs.

second harvest sundays

On the second Sunday of the month, we host a "Drive 'n Drop" collection for Second Harvest Food Bank (SHFB). Simply drive through our parking lot to drop off nonperishable food items between the hours of 9 am and 11 am on Sunday. A team of volunteers will happily assist you in collecting your food or cash donations. All donations will then be given to Second Harvest Food Bank the following Tuesday.

The Food Bank needs nutritious, non-perishable foods:

  • Meals in a can (stew, chili, soup)
  • Tuna and canned meat
  • Peanut butter
  • Canned foods with pop-top lids
  • Low-sugar cereals
  • 100% fruit juices in single serving boxes
  • Canned fruit packed in juice
  • Canned vegetables (low salt)

Please avoid donating items packaged in glass. On behalf of SHFB, we request that you do not donate bulk quantities of rice, flour, or sugar.
