Reducing the Risk: Policies & Procedures for Working with Minors:
One of the goals of PromiseLand is to provide a safe, secure, loving environment for children. In an effort to accomplish this we have several security measures in place to protect our children, their parents, and the church. Below is an overview of our policies and procedures, but not limited to them.
Worker Approval & Teacher Identification:
All PromiseLand team members (leaders, teachers, & supporting staff) must have an approved application on file in the Church Office. Adult volunteers are fingerprinted for a background check through the California Department of Justice.
Check-In & Check-Out Procedures:
- PromiseLand Nursery:
When parents check in their child (birth through 2 years) they sign them in and indicate who will be picking up their child after service. Children will only be dismissed to the person(s) indicated on the sign-in sheet at check-in time. You can also leave your contact information for us to call, if necessary. - PromiseLand Children's Classroom:
Children kindergarten through elementary are checked in and out at their entrances to the classrooms. Parents must sign each child in and sign them out at the end of each class hour. Children will only be dismissed to the person(s) indicated on the sign-in sheet at check-in time. Parents can also leave their contact information in case of emergency.
General Security:
At least two approved team members are scheduled for each group of children during our Sunday service & discipleship hour, and are not left with any adult not background checked. During our service hours, children are not allowed to wander around the campus. Window blinds are kept open at all times. Any PromiseLand sponsored activities or outings outside regularly scheduled classes must be pre-approved by the PromiseLand Team. Participants are required to come with a completed PromiseLand permission slip that is signed by a parent or guardian.
